[Awktopian’s closet]
Here I’m providing more details on past, current && possibly future projects for the aspiring or the nosey!
Look I’m constantly learning, so why not share in the experience.
THE ALL-WHITE COLLECTION (aka. Legends Capsule) | release date (2019/03/18) via Riot Games Merchandise, Inc.
I’ve been waiting for this moment since I started working at Riot - to finally have something in the Merch store, but not just one, not two, THREE items, a thoughtful collection inspired by my teams amazing work. I should feel awesome, but alas like anything I WANT MORE, so back to work!

Jinx - frost white zip hoodie | Darius - white tee | Blitzcrank - white dad hat
Last Fall my team released a series of 30-second anime’s to promote League of Legends and shine a light on a few of our influencer’s in the community. All of the story boards and champion visual studies were BEAUTIFUL and we had to make a collection based off those initial renders. Most of the art was digital, but for the Darius piece there were physical sketches - so the challenge with implementing this concept was upresing and vectorizing the designs. Unfortunately, due to the complexity of sketches all of the champion designs had to be developed and shipped through photoshop. This also meant it would be impossible to pull that many screens, nor achieve excellent fidelity due to the small whispers and lines in the sketches.
Luckily, our initial run (which was given first to our League Partner Program members) was small, we could use the direct to garment (DTG) printing technique, which kept the fidelity of the sketches.
I know it’s “taboo” not to make Illustrator your number one, especially when it comes to physical printing, BUT as long as you are working from a large enough canvas @ 300dpi, in my opinion - you gooch. A majority of the Unfavorable collection was developed and shipped in Photoshop, with the quality of the print + screen maintained. The final result was pretty fucking surprising - trust, I was worried - but our vendor was an excellent partner and even the lightest grey flicks were captured.
My favorite piece is a tie between the hoodie and the hat. Both have solid designs and all the colors on the white POP - like girl, this red/pink is fetch AF!
U-88 : THE LAST STAND
#theUnfavored is my passion project, birthed by my love for all things Urgot && misery. This is my hypothesis on elevating games into our lifestyles. 2018 was my last year working on this project with the hopes of somebody seeing it’s potential. I say fuck ‘em, I’ll do it myself.
U-88 : ORIGIN STORY
Let me rant about my absurd love for Urgot, how he inspired me to dedicate my life to all things misery and inevitably lead me to my passion, merchandising - specifically for the ones you love to hate.
[BTC] FIRST IMPACT! : MY FIRST COLLAB w/XELL
My teammate needed some design work and I sit behind him, so I was an obvious choice. I’ll be detailing how one favor has spiraled into a unique partnership and how to turn a single design into a full brand economy.
